(Un)Processed
Interactive installation
Victoria H. Myhren Gallery
Denver, Colorado - 2008
(Un)Processed is an interactive sensory environment that addresses the relationship between humans, nature, and the industrial world.
This manufactured space explores similarities and differences between nature and fabrication through a composition of video stills ranging from a swimming sea lion to freeway traffic and dry grasses to industrial incidences.
As viewers enter and move through the space, motion sensors and motion-sensing software construct the video experience by sensing the shadow movement of passersby. Viewers are encouraged to explore and interact by both moving and standing still while observing the imagery.
Along with addressing the relationship between humans, nature, and the industrial world, the intent of this piece is to create dialogue regarding how stillness and observation are critically linked.

Come on baby, Let’s do The Twist! is a portrait of the dance craze that exploded after the introduction of the song, The Twist, in the 1960’s by rock and roll singer, Chubby Checker.
The installation is located in darkened a corner and is composed of a sheet hanging from the ceiling. The sheet is hung above a mock checkered dance floor and displays a projected video constructed from 1960’s footage of both Chubby Checker and crowds dancing The Twist.
